Is this phone Meizu's answer to the Xiaomi Mi MIX?

The Xiaomi Mi MIX has captured the attention of consumers with its stunning 6.4-inch screen. The display covers 84.16% of the front body (not 91.3% as Xiaomi claims). The phone's first flash sale, held on Friday, sold out in just 10-seconds. As you might expect, other phone manufacturers appear to be working on new models with
a similar design to the Mi MIX.

Surfacing today on Weibo is the image of a phone that allegedly is being built by Meizu. It obviously would have a high screen-to-body ratio, and the most recent speculation has the manufacturer making the handset official on December 24th. Christmas Eve falls out on a Saturday, which is just one reason why we should take this story with a grain of salt.

If this is legitimate, Meizu's phone will have an even higher screen-to-body ratio. While the Mi MIX serves up a bottom bezel, the Meizu model does not have one. There is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the glass (possibly Qualcomm's ultrasonic scanner). There have been rumors that the 10th anniversary Apple iPhone will offer something similar in appearance with absolutely no buttons on the front.
