Most of you guys probably only knows Xiaomi to be a smartphone company but that’s not all about Xiaomi. The company has several other brands and product which you probably haven’t heard off, like electric bikes, laptops, smart speakers etc. The company recently launched a new electric bike under its sub-brand 70mai, the 70mai A1 and A1 Pro moped.

The new Xiaomi electric bike brings a navigation system and a bicycle feature for those who are looking for an e-bike with paddles option.

Xiaomi 70mai A1 Specifications:

The all-new electric mopeds are lightweight, weighing only 52kg or 115 pounds. Both bikes have slightly different configurations. The A1 is powered by a 768 Wh li-ion battery pack which delivers a range of 37 miles (59.5Km), the A1 pro, however, has an upgraded 960 Wh battery pack extending the range to 43 miles or 70 km.

Although there’s a slight difference in both electric bikes battery, they both have the its top speed set to 15.5 mph or 25 kmph which is the maximum speed for an e-bike as per the Chinese traffic norms.

Both mopeds features a 48V charging system. The batteries are removable and can be charged separately.

Xiaomi Electric Bike 70mai A1 Design and Display:

The bike comes with 16″ wheels giving the bike a more sporty look, it uses a disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. As for the suspension, the bike comes with a telescopic front fork and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.

When you look close to the foot rest region, you’ll notice the bike comes with additional paddles to help you in situation where you run out of battery, giving you a conventional bicycle experience.

Both e-bike are equipped with a 6.87-inch touch screen coloured display with an in-built GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. The display shows information’s like speed of the e-scooter, battery charge level, range etc.

Interestingly, the bike comes with voice-over command and ‘Find My Phone’ feature. The electric bike also features a 1080p, 130-degree wide-view camera to capture ride videos.

Xiaomi 70mai A1 and A1 Pro electric bike is available in red, yellow and white colour option and exclusive to China at the moment. However, it will be available globally as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic gets over.

The 70mai A1 model starts selling at RMB 2,999, which is approximately US $425 while the 70mai A1 pro model is priced at RMBv3,999 approx, US $566.

This is not a performance-oriented product. However, it could be great for people looking for an e-bike with an option of paddles and a touch of coolest features.
